Marietta Wright, CPOA
Marietta has been with AVC since 2016. When she started, it was suppose to be a stepping stone to her “next big thing.” However, she fell in love with optometry! She studied and passed her first certification test, Certified Paraoptometric in 2017. Furthering her education, Marietta conquered the second test of CPOA (Certified Paraoptometric Assistant) in 2019. She is now studying for the CPOT (Certified Paraoptometric Technician) and NCLE (National Contact Lens Examiners) certifications to gain even more knowledge in the field of optometry. She is driven to do the best for our patients and that is why education is so important to her. She strives to learn something new everyday.
Outside of work, Marietta enjoys spending time with her husband Jesse, who is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach (yes, he pushes her to exercise and eat veggies), and her son, Jesse II aka Little Man, who is a ball of energy and lover of animals. Their dog is named Arnold, “Arny” for short (named after Arnold Schwarzenegger). Marietta’s family is outdoorsy. On a nice day you will find them fishing, riding the motorcycle, enjoying the park, or walking. On a rainy day, it’s reading books, usually a good suspense/murder mystery, or watching a show (yes, all shows medical) on Netflix or Hulu.
Marietta’s goal with AVC is to ensure patients have a memorable experience: whether it’s a child’s first pair of glasses, a teen being able to wear contacts to play sports, or someone needing a bifocal for the first time. Being able to be part of the moment that changes their perspective of the world through lenses is why she loves her work!
